You can stop writing in now – the Mayor & Council unanimously voted to accept the $1.5 million grant and keep RedGate park “in perpetuity.” This would not have happened without the tremendous community response.
A huge thanks to everyone who wrote in and everyone who attended the meeting last night.

Previous Information (for reference)
RedGate Park — the open-space former golf course off Gude/Norbeck — is technically in Rockville, but many people from Gaithersburg use it for walks, birding, dog walks, and getting outside.
On Monday, Nov 17, the Rockville Mayor & Council will vote on whether to accept a $1.5 million grant to improve RedGate and protect it as a park in perpetuity.
If you live in Gaithersburg and enjoy RedGate, you can share your thoughts with the Rockville Mayor & Council at:
mayorcouncil@rockvillemd.gov
(They do listen to people from nearby communities.)
A short email could include:
- that you live in Gaithersburg and RedGate draws you into Rockville
- that RedGate is important to you as a Gaithersburg resident
- a request that the Mayor & Council accept the $1.5 million grant to improve and protect RedGate Park
Be sure to include your name and Gaithersburg neighborhood.
