Email the Mayor & Council (mayorcouncil@rockvillemd.gov) and let them know:
- Community gardens are a valuable addition to the park.
- The best place is on the former driving range, not the at park entrance!
- If you are interested in a plot, say so. This will show demand for plots.
The plan for RedGate Park calls for Community Gardens. Unfortunately they are slated to go at the entrance of the park. The former driving range is a much better option. It can accommodate as many gardens as Wootton Mills gardens, the ground is level, and it would preserve the beauty of the entrance to the park.
Below is an image of the location currently planned at RedGate Park and the size of Wootton Mills gardens. Note as well that community gardens can look a bit messy and don’t belong at the park’s entrance.
